Bate Brand win at National Car Club Awards 2017

Having returned from 2016's celebration with the award for 'Outstanding Magazine of the Year', TR Register and Bate Brand have been victorious for a second year running – this time winning the 'Outstanding Website of the Year' trophy at this year's National Car Club Awards!

The annual prize-giving ceremony, held at Birmingham's NEC, saw 230 members of the classic motoring community gather to celebrate the great and good of classic car clubs across the UK and Ireland. David Boyce of Tourism Ireland, sponsor of this year's awards, recognised the 'fantastic atmosphere in the room' as well as praising the feeling of 'community spirit' demonstrated in the car clubs. Special guests included the Rt. Hon. Sir Greg Knight, Wheeler Dealers presenters Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead, and Car SOS' Fuzz Townshend.

TR Register is one of the most successful one-make car clubs in the world, catering to the needs of owners of Triumph TR sports cars. At Bate Brand we've had the pleasure of working with TR Register for over 15 years, first creating an award-winning magazine redesign for their print publication TR Action, before building a bespoke website that is original, responsive and specific to the needs of the TR Register membership team.

Judges at the ceremony were impressed by the design, innovation and functionality of the website, praising the concept as 'just brilliant.' Other nominees included the MK1 Golf Owners Club and the Volvo Owners Club. The award was presented to Wayne Scott, Press Officer and Editor of TR Action. In his acceptance speech Scott praised the TR team and its club members. He said:

'The site has been the culmination of two years work and was based on feedback from the club's members and local group leaders. I am tremendously proud of this award as it is worthy recognition of the fantastic contributions made by our local group web editors who are pivotal in keeping the site populated with content. Furthermore it feels great to see the TR Register being at the forefront of the classic car world by leading the way with technology once again.'

Scott individually thanked the Bate Brand team for their dedication to the innovative design and production of the website. He said:

'The team at Bate Brand were tremendously passionate about ensuring our needs and requests were brought to life throughout the build.'

Having been shortlisted for this extremely competitive category last year, it's fantastic to have now won awards for both our print and digital work with TR Register – long may it continue!
